PROTECTION OF PRIVATE LIFE
Smart Aquaponics is a project coordinated by ULiège. The University of Liège intends to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (RGPD - European Regulation 2016/679 of April 27, 2016) organizing the processing of personal data and the relevant Belgian regulations in force.
The person responsible for processing personal data is the University of Liège, whose registered office is at Place du 20-August, 7 in 4000 Liège. The University of Liège is a public institution with dual legal personality: it acts, on the one hand, as the French Community of Belgium (of which it is a decentralized body) (0807.970.507) and, on the other hand , as a decentralized and autonomous public establishment, called “the Heritage of the University of Liège” (0325.777.171). She is duly represented by Mr. P. Wolper, Rector.
Processing of personal data
Personal data must be understood, within the meaning of the GDPR, as “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. "These data bring together all the information that makes it possible to identify a natural person," directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier, such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one or more specific elements specific to its physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity. "
The processing of this data is understood in a broad sense. This includes "the collection, recording, organization, structuring, conservation, adaptation or modification, extraction, consultation, use, communication by transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, reconciliation or interconnection, limitation, erasure or destruction. "
The user's personal data collected through online forms will only be processed by ULiège to the extent necessary for the purposes indicated during the collection of this data. Personal data is only transmitted to staff responsible for carrying out the purposes set out during the collection of this data.
The personal data of users collected through the forms on this site are under no circumstances processed for commercial purposes. More generally, they will not be transmitted or transferred to other organizations, except with the express consent of the user.

Rights of the registered person
As provided for in the GDPR (Art. 15 to 23), each person concerned by the data processing can, by proving their identity, exercise a series of rights:
obtain, free of charge, a copy of the personal data concerning him which is the subject of processing by ULiège and, where applicable, any available information on their purpose, origin and destination;
to obtain, free of charge, the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning him as well as to obtain that the incomplete data be completed;
obtain, subject to the conditions provided for by the regulations (see below) and free of charge, the erasure of personal data concerning him;
obtain, subject to the conditions provided for by the regulations and free of charge, the limitation of the processing of personal data concerning him;
obtain, free of charge, the portability of personal data concerning him and that he has provided to the University, that is to say to receive, free of charge, the data in a commonly used structured format, on the condition that the processing is based on consent or on a contract and is carried out using automated processes;
oppose, subject to the conditions provided for by the regulations and free of charge, for reasons relating to his particular situation, the processing of personal data concerning him;
lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority ( https://www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be , contact@apd-gba.be ).
Conditions for exercising rights
Some of these rights are subject to conditions.
Right to erasure (Article 17 of the GDPR)
The erasure of personal data concerning him / her can be carried out by a person:
if these data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
if the data subject withdraws the consent on which the processing is based and there is no other legal basis for the processing;
if the data subject objects to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing or if the data subject objects to processing for prospecting purposes;
whether the personal data have been the subject of unlawful processing;
if the personal data must be erased in order to comply with a legal obligation provided for by Union law, by Belgian law or by French law;
if the personal data has been collected in the context of the offer of information society services.
Right of limitation (Article 18 of the GDPR)
The limitation of the processing of personal data concerning him may be exercised by a person:
if the data subject disputes its accuracy, for the time allowing the controller to verify the accuracy of the personal data;
if the processing is unlawful and the data subject objects to the erasure of the data and instead requests the restriction of their use;
if ULiège no longer needs personal data for the purposes of processing but they are still necessary for the data subject for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims;
if the data subject has objected to the processing, during the verification whether the legitimate reasons pursued by the controller prevail over those of the data subject.
Right to object (Article 21 of the GDPR)
The right of opposition may be exercised by the data subject for reasons relating to his particular situation, relating to the processing of personal data concerning him based on consent or legitimate interest, unless ULiège demonstrates that '' there are legitimate and compelling reasons for the processing which prevail over the interests and rights and freedoms of the data subject, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
