SMART AQUAPONICS TOOLS PRESENTATION WEBINAR
December 7, 2020
Rediscover in replay the webinar of December 7, 2020 which aims to present the digital tools of the Smart Aquaponics project to remotely control and anticipate an aquaponics system. Vigo Universal, interface developer, presented the tool that will help design future aquaponics systems and the monitoring application to manage the systems remotely. The model that supports these two tools, SAM - the Smart Aquaponics Model - was presented by the Urban Agriculture Research Center.
About sixty participants, mainly from Belgium and France and from the aquaponics sector, took part in this presentation followed by a moment of discussion in the form of questions and answers.

LEARNING TOOLS
The online training tool is composed of theoretical course modules and a didactic interface. The guide integrates both the practical aspects and the biology notions necessary for the design and managment of an aquaponics system. It is composed of 3 modules:
-
Plant production in hydroponics - Smart Aquaponics Guide_Plant production in aquaponics
-
Aquaculture production - Smart Aquaponics Guide_Fish production in aquaponics
-
Monitoring - Smart Aquaponics Guide_Monitoring of parameters in aquaponics

The didactic interface includes the main elements of these 3 modules and makes them available via Smart Phone and computer.
These training tools are currently being finalized and will be available for download from December 2022 onwards.
The content was designed by teachers passionate about pedagogy and aquaponics, at the technical (PTI), bachelor'- (Odissée and Howest) and university (Junia and ULiège) level. Vigo Universal provided its expertise in educational games to the Smart Aquaponics project.

By means of these tools, Smart Aquaponics wishes to see the emergence of future professionals in aquaponics and to encourage enthusiasts to produce animal and plant proteins in a more sustainable way.
The target audiences are technical secondary, higher education and university levels and to some extent self-taught individuals and associations. Eventually, a practical training network may also be set up.
